Early Xmas Gift for North West Air Ambulance Charity from Pearson Solicitors

  • Posted on

Nearly £400 was raised towards keeping the North West Air Ambulance Charity in the skies this Christmas when Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers kindly donated their will-writing services for free.

Clients who wanted to make use of the service during Make a Will Week in October were asked to make a donation to the charity in exchange for having a Will drawn up by a professional solicitor.

This donation will help to keep the helicopters flying and doctors and paramedics delivering expert medical care in the right place, increasing a patient’s chances of survival and early recovery.

Gemma Torkington, Individual Giving Officer at the North West Air Ambulance Charity, said:  “The aim of our Make a Will Week was to create awareness of the importance of making a will and to highlight that it’s not just something to think about in older age.  Pearson Solicitors work over the week certainly helped us to achieve that.

“Legacies make up a large amount of our total income, so we are extremely grateful for all the support we’ve had from Pearson Solicitors.  This donation will help us to continue making a life-saving difference to the people of the North West.”

Making a Will is vitally important as it is the only way to ensure your assets and possessions are distributed in the way you want. Almost 75% of people have not made a Will, or changed it to take into account the birth of children, divorce, ill health or the death of a beneficiary.

Daniel Prince, Partner at Pearson’s said:  “Whatever we can do to raise awareness of the need to make a Will is welcomed and helping a charity at the same time is an added bonus.”

Make sure your loved ones do not lose out when you die, and to ensure your wishes are carried out it is essential you make a Will.
