INSPIRE: Pearson Solicitors Partner Named Business Woman of the Year

  • Posted on

Pearson’s first female Partner Joanne Ormston was honoured as Business Woman of the Year recently at the Oldham Business Awards, and enjoyed success alongside a host of our commercial clients.

As proud sponsors of Business of the Year (under £1m) we know just how important these awards are in gaining recognition for hard work, as well as putting a little something back into the business community of Oldham.

With 500 business leaders packed into the Queen Elizabeth Hall it was certainly a night to remember, as Joanne said:

“The Oldham Business Awards get bigger and better and are a highlight in the year.

“It is an opportunity to see some of the great work that is being done in the area and provides such an inspiration for up and coming businesses, as well as recognising that here in Oldham on our doorsteps we have ground-breaking companies that have not only survived the economic crisis, but are flourishing and bringing work and recognition to the area.”

The Oldham Business Awards 2014 saw a record number of applicants and almost 500 people attended the gala dinner on Friday. Joanne beat off stiff competition from First Choice Homes and Team Spirit to win her award, sponsored by Nov Mono.

Joanne added: “It is fantastic to see so many successful women in the Oldham business community and on behalf of Pearson’s I feel honoured to have been chosen as Business Woman of the Year. It was good to see so many of our clients also having success on the night, proving that by working together we are making a difference and putting Oldham on the business map again.

“With all the changes we have seen in Oldham over the last decade I really believe that businesses can now take up the challenge and thrive in the developing community in which we all work.”
