Solicitors Dust off Football Boots To Fundraise For Mens Cancer

  • Posted on

A team of wannabe footballers from Pearson’s are dusting off their boots and playing in a fundraising event on Sunday June 14th in aid of testicular cancer.

The team are helping BaggyTrousers UK which was formed in May 2014 after 23 year old Jack Broadley from Ashton overcame his battles with testicular cancer.

The main aim of BaggyTrousers is to promote regular checks and provide engaging awareness sessions and support for young men aged 14-26 about testicular cancer. The group, founded by Jack, aim to visit schools, colleges and youth groups to raise awareness and educate young men about the signs and symptoms, so that they can get treatment sooner rather than later.

“Lads Check Your Nads is sort of our catch phrase, we really want to get boys to not be embarrassed and shy of checking themselves and to promote awareness of men’s issues in the same way women’s are highlighted.  We also provide support to those who have been diagnosed with testicular cancer, during and after treatment which is crucial.

“It’s great that companies like Pearson Solicitors are involved in helping my fundraising, I turned to them with my case after I had an alleged misdiagnosis,” said Jack.

After being given the all-clear a hike up Mount Snowdon was organised to meet up with other survivors and pay tribute to those that had lost their battle to beat the illness and from that the fundraising group has gone from strength to strength.

The date of the event is the 14th June 2015 and will be held at the Trafford Soccerdome from 1pm until 5pm and has already got off to a flying start with businesses such as Pearson Solicitors, Bardsley Construction, The Money Plus Group, The AA PLC, Santander and Tameside Markets getting involved.
