Christmas Dinner and a Spot of House Hunting after Pud?

  • Posted on

A recent article in The Times* reported a record rise in "festive browsing" on house hunting sites such Rightmove, Zoopla and OntheMarket. If you're thinking of moving house, the Christmas period is an ideal time to start searching for your ideal home - and to get to grips with the legal process. We can help you with that...

Interestingly, estate agents quoted in the article commented that Christmas used to be a quiet period for their business and many recommended taking properties off the market at this time.

Not so now ... the internet age has opened up opportunities for house hunters to "visit" homes electronically from the comfort of their own sofa. Many are doing so during peak family holidays, even on Christmas day - but particularly on Boxing Day.

If you are thinking of starting a house search, the article* in the Times has some guidance on when to list your property (see the link below).

You also need to start thinking about the legal process of buying and selling a house.
