Christmas Comes Early

Santa paid an early visit to our Queen Street offices today when he came to collect food parcels for the Oldham Foodbank.  In his role-reversal visit Santa collected boxes and sacks of goodies from our staff in readiness for the festive season.

Over the last few weeks our offices have become a collection point for staff, from all three of the law firm’s offices, to bring in food items in preparation for today’s call.

Hearing that 1 in 5 of the UK population live below the poverty line we felt that it was something our staff would and could get involved in.  In fact they have excelled themselves - not only have they brought in foodstuff but sacks of games, toys and Christmas treats too.

Bridget Batty, Communications and Marketing Manager for Pearson said, “I’m extremely proud of all of our team here as they really took the collection to their hearts.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the hype of Christmas and it’s so easy to forget how fortunate we all are.  We all like to treat our family and friends to extra treats at Christmas but for many families just having the basic supplies is a luxury.   It feels good to be able to help others and that we could provide the Oldham Foodbank with not only much needed supplies but also to help them to give families an extra special Christmas too.”

The Oldham Foodbank want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry.  Financial support, time, business partnership and food can make a real difference.  If you’d like to support Oldham Foodbank this Christmas take a visit to their website to see what they are short of.
