Staff at Oldham law firm Pearson Solicitors are popping the kettle on and welcoming clients with coffee and a cake as they take part in the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning this Friday.

As well as inviting neighbouring businesses and clients to the coffee morning staff are also holding a tombola and raffle to boost the fundraising.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning helps raises money for cancer support charity Macmillan and last year the event made £29.5 million.

Pearson’s cashier, Catherine Lees, who is organising the local event said:  “This is the third year I have taken part and every year the support is tremendous from friends and colleagues, it’s like our own internal bake off and there promises to be some amazing bakes this year.  The money all goes towards much-needed cancer care and helping people remain at home with family around them which is so important.   Every little bit helps and I’d like to thank all involved and invite businesses and clients in the vicinity to pop in for a brew this Friday.”

Practice Manager Joanne Ormston, supporting the event added:  "We always encourage staff to get involved in charity events and this is a cause close to Catherine's heart, she has put a great deal of effort into fund-raising and I'm looking forward to meeting and greeting clients and our neighbouring office staff and businesses when they pop in for a charity cake and coffee."
