The Christmas Spirit has come early to staff at Pearsons as they have been doing extra shopping in the run up to December 25th in aid of the Oldham Food Bank.

Staff have been popping one or two items into their weekly shop and collecting it together at the Queen Street offices ready to deliver to the food bank this week in time for the festive season.  As well as food items the staff have also collected sacks of toys for the children of families visiting the Clegg Street food bank.

All three of the law firm’s offices in Oldham, Ashton and Hollinwood, are taking part, with over 60 staff donating towards the charitable shop.

The event is being organised by Pearson’s business development manager, Suzanne Wright, who said:

When I read a report saying that 12 families a day were visiting the Oldham food bank I felt it was something we could help with, even in a small way.

“It’s all too easy to get caught up in the exciting rush up to Christmas and we forget how lucky we all are.  This is a great way to get staff helping a worthy cause right on our doorstep just remembering others when they do their weekly shops.

“We all like to treat our families to a few extra luxuries at Christmas time, but for many people just having basic foods is a luxury and it's nice to be able to help out at this time of year making someone else’s Christmas that little bit more special and the toys staff have donated are just something to make the big day more magical for the children.”

If anyone wants to drop items at our offices we will gladly donate them to the food bank.
