Celebrating our Volunteering Staff

Thursday 5 December is International Volunteer Day.  A day to raise awareness of and to gain an understanding of how people used their skills and knowledge within their communities on a voluntary basis.

At Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers a number of our staff are busy outside the office freely giving their time to serve in their local communities.  From sitting on boards of charities to professional organisations and sports clubs to supporting their offspring in their activities, our staff are involved in a variety of activities

Here is just a short list of some of the roles our team are involved in:-

Lisa Anderson  Fundraising Assistant  St Anne’s C  of E School Lydgate School PTA,,  Helper at weekly service at  St Anne’s C of E Church, Lydgate

Bridget Batty – Regional committee member for CIPR Northwest – Regional committee member

Sarah Finnigan – Mahdlo

Joanne Jones – Trustee on Board of Trustees at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice

Ken Lees - Chair of Governors at Coppice and Roundthorn Primary Academies

David Meredith  - Governor & Treasurer Oldham Hulme Grammar School, Trustee of Oldham Enterprise Trust

John Pollitt Member of the specialist Solicitor panel Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA), Trustee for Tameside MIND, Panel member for Action Oldham Fund

Mike Talbot – Manager/Coach – Stockport Vikings - Junior U16 Football team

Jacqui White – Board Member on Oldham Bereavement Support Service

Ian Wolstenhulme – Judge for Pride of Tameside, Ambassador for Tameside for Good, Committee Member Saddleworth Rangers RLFC, Co-Organiser of the Alderman Ascent National Fell Run, #TamesideHour Business Network Member, #OldhamHour Business Network Participant

Suzanne Wright – Board member for Maggies

Bridget Batty, Communications Manager for the firm said, “Volunteers Day is a unique chance to celebrate those who freely give of their spare time to work in the community.  Many groups, organisations and charities wouldn’t survive without the time and the expertise people offer. Volunteers Day gives volunteers, such as our own staff,  the chance to celebrate their efforts, share their values and promote the work they do in their own communities and also to be recognised for the hours they give.”
