With the holiday season now a staycation many families are heading to caravans, holidays parks and rented cottages across the UK -  even before Covid-19 made families think twice about an overseas trip the UK is a favoured getaway, but it’s important to make sure you stay safe whilst away and return home refreshed and relaxed and not via A&E.

We have acted for many clients who have been sick and ill whilst away due to food poisoning, whilst others have turned to us when they have had an accident on holiday and not been able to return back to work or normal life for a while.

Holiday Claim Settlement

We acted recently for the family of a boy who was injured whilst staying in a holiday park in the South of England.

The 11-year-old boy tripped over uneven flooring in his holiday chalet hitting a glass table and sustaining injuries to his back and finger.  The family had to return from their holidays and attended an emergency walk-in centre where he was treated.  He was unable to play football or kick boxing for a period of four months

The holiday company, a major national holiday park operator admitted liability and made a £3,745 settlement to cover compensation, pain and suffering and any physiotherapy needed.

“When clients come to us with questions about costs of legal action we always go through what happened and give an appraisal of their chances of success,” said Personal Injury lawyer Lisa Anderson.

“At our initial meeting with clients we will be able to explain the types of compensation, taking into account pain and suffering, any specific losses such as medical treatment abroad, loss of earnings on return and costs rehabilitation,” added Lisa Anderson.

Clients are also advised to get photographic evidence of any uneven flooring or hazards they have tripped or fallen over, or anything else that has contributed to their claim.  When this is done there is evidence, but most importantly it is dated and can be used in their claim.
