Kate Hunter


Kate joined the firm in January 2016 as a trainee. Now qualified, she is a key member of our Employment Law team. 

She works mainly with employers, providing daily assistance on the legal needs of her commercial clients. One of her major roles in the team is managing the 123 Employment Protect package, which offers a retainer service to all type of business.

Kate has a History Degree from The University of Liverpool (graduating in 2011 with a 2:1) and an LLB (law degree) from The University of Law in Manchester (2013).

Specialist Areas

Kate's experience includes a wide range of employment issues, in particular she:

  • reviews terms and conditions (T&Cs)
  • advises on and updates contracts of employment
  • advises and acts for clients in relation to disciplinary, sickness and absence issues - and a wide range of other issues.

Kate is also experienced in working for employees in relation to their workplace issues which means she can see both sides of argument and advise accordingly. 

Focused on providing strong legal support to dynamic, young businesses, Kate is a keen networker in the local area, she is steadily building up both her commercial contacts and her reputation as a trusted advisor.  


Outside the office

Outside of the working environment, Kate enjoys maintaining a healthy life-style with regular exercise at her local gym, skiing in the winter months and fell-walks in the Lake District during the summer.
