Oldham Law Firm backs Oldham Athletic

  • Posted on

The changes at Oldham Athletic Football Club have been well-publicised of late with Oldham’s very own flat-cap wearing ambassador Frank Rothwell purchasing the club in September.

Soon after, former professional footballer David Unsworth joined as Manager followed by Darren Royle, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer at OAFC.

As an Oldham based firm, Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers are extremely proud of our heritage. We too wanted to back the club and secured a sponsorship deal that includes Matchday sponsors and corporate hospitality for the York vs Oldham game in January 2023, LED perimeter advertising, programme and social media coverage.

Director and Practice Manager Joanne Ormston said:

“We’ve been watching the coverage of OAFC with much interest and there are a number of die-hard Latics fans in our Oldham, Hollinwood and Failsworth offices.”

“There was a keen desire across the firm to back the club and the Directors at Pearson were only too willing to support this.”

“Although we act for clients both regionally and nationally, we are a local firm at heart and, where we can, we will support local businesses and charities alike. We have similar values to Frank and the club which is to make Oldham stand out from the crowd and to give back where you can.”

Oldham Athletic CEO, Darren Royle said:

“Pearson Solicitors are very much seen as a community player and their passion for Oldham businesses and its people truly echoes the beliefs of OAFC. Investment is key for the success of the club and we are thrilled to have Pearson on board.”

Both the OAFC and Pearson Solicitors have been busy with recruitment, and it has taken a while to coordinate diaries. A photoshoot has now taken place at the club with Darren Royle, Joanne Ormston and Chris Burke, Director and Head of Commercial Litigation at Pearson Solicitors who were joined by Centre Forwards Timmy Abrahams and Mike Fondop.

The club recently achieved global coverage prior to and following the FA Cup game against Wrexham AFC owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny which has been enjoyed by both teams and their fans.
