Oldham law firm gets top marks for client care

  • Posted on

Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Lexcel accreditation by the Law Society of England and Wales. This prestigious quality mark is awarded to legal practices that meet the highest standards in client care, compliance, and practice management.

Lexcel Assessment

It is the 23rd year running that the firm, with five offices across the Greater Manchester area, can boast such success.  Key standouts this year are succession planning, with the appointment of Heads of Department across all areas, open and honest communication, new work streams, high standards in client care and 4.9* review ratings.

The rigorous assessment process involves a comprehensive independent audit of policies, procedures, and risk management practices, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Lexcel assessor Anne Milne reported in her findings that staff interviewed in the process felt valued, supported and motivated towards the success of the firm. She noted that transparency in staff briefings, including full and frank information on the firm’s financial performance was unusual for law firms, but in the case of Pearson was a great encouragement, with staff saying they felt as if they were part of the growth process.

Cyber Essentials

Investments in IT have moved the firm forward she said, and cyber essentials accreditation has been achieved.

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme designed to help companies protect themselves against common cyber attacks. For law firms, it's particularly important due to the sensitive nature of the information handled, including client data and confidential legal documents, which can be a target for cybercriminals.

Achieving Lexcel accreditation means that a firm has met the highest standards in areas such as:

  • Client care
  • Risk management
  • Compliance
  • Staff training and supervision
  • File and case management
  • Financial and business planning

“This achievement is a reflection of our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in the services we provide,” said Pearson Director, Joanne Ormston.  “Our teams work diligently to ensure all clients receive the highest standard of legal service, and Lexcel accreditation is a testament to that dedication.”

“This milestone is more than just a badge of honour. It represents a rigorous and independent assessment of how we manage our practice, support our team, and most importantly, deliver services to our clients.”

“Gaining this accreditation is no small feat—it involved a lot of preparation, internal reviews, and a detailed audit by an independent Lexcel assessor. The process was thorough and demanding, but incredibly rewarding,” added Joanne.
