Pearson Solicitors Wrap up Christmas Donations

  • Posted on

December is notoriously busy for many law firms especially with all the residential and corporate transactions that are timed for completion before the festive break.  That said, charity commitment across the legal sector remains strong and for our team at Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers full support is a key priority.

Having launched our campaign in early December in support of Francis House Children’s Hospice, Oldham Foodbank and Mahdlo Youth Zone, staff across our three sites in Oldham, Hollinwood and Failsworth came up with the goods to spread some Christmas cheer.

Donations to Francis House Children's Hospice

Pearson Solicitors charity of the year Francis House Children’s Hospice were the main benefactor receiving a cheque for £6,400 plus over 200 selection boxes and gifts for the children who will be staying at the hospice over Christmas.

Director and Practice Manager at Pearson Solicitors, Joanne Ormston said:

“There have been all sorts of activities including quizzes, dress down days, lunches, donations of cash, toys, food items and winter woollies, all of which will help the three charities.”

“Each year, and this year in particular, I’ve been overwhelmed by the support received from all our staff and their willingness to help others whilst having a lot of fun too!”

David Ireland, Chief Executive Officer, In-house Solicitor Rachael Taylor and Fundraising Coordinator Julie Williams all from Francis House Children’s Hospice attended our Hollinwood where we presented a cheque and gifts by Joanne Ormston and Employment Law Partner Susan Mayall.

Speaking on behalf of Francis House, David Ireland said:

“Caring for a child with complex needs can put a huge strain on families and around Christmas time there is often a high level of stress. Families are feeling the strain more so this year because of the pressure on the NHS. Francis House is trying to ease the burden on parents and provide extra support and will be open for emergency admissions over the Christmas period.”

“Having the cash donation and gifts from Pearson Solicitors will help us in our quest and we are truly grateful for their continued support.”

Donations to Mahdlo Youth Zone

In addition, Mahdlo Youth Zone received a cheque for £1,000 and a collection of warm clothing items presented to Claire Crossfield, Development Manager and Amos Brooks, Corporate and Community Fundraiser.
