Pearson’s proudly supporting Santa’s Secret Heleprs

  • Posted on

It’s been a tough couple of years for many local families with 38% of children in Oldham living in poverty, but we are involved in a Christmas campaign that hopes to spread some festive magic and make it a morning to remember on December 25th.

Oldham Toy Appeal

Every year the team at Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers adopt a Christmas charity. This year when the Oldham Evening Chronicle and Action Together approached us to get involved with the Santa’s Secret Helpers campaign to help bring some festive magic to children who might not receive a gift on Christmas morning.

During the lead up to the big day, there will be a Christmas tree in the Oldham Spindles shopping centre where the public can pick up a Santa's Secret Helpers gift tag. The Tags will include a child's age and anyone shopping in the town centre can buy a suitable gift for the child.

The gifts can be dropped off in the town centre at named drop off points where volunteers will wrap them up and they can then be distributed to children in time for Christmas.

Christmas Gift Ideas

  • Children aged 0 to 3 years old - Bath Toys, Large building blocks, playmats and sensory toys
  • Children aged 4 to 12 years old - Arts or Crafts, Activity Toys, Games and Puzzles, Books, Fidget Toys, Pajamas or outfits
  • Teenagers 12 years or over - Make-up Sets, Sports Equipment or Gift Vouchers
  • All ages - Books, Winter Clothes, Pyjamas or Gift Voucher

The gifts donated should be new and unwrapped from babies right through to 18 year olds and all those donated will go to children who might not receive a gift this Christmas. Donations should be made by December 10th and anyone can spread the word #OldhamToyAppeal.

Why Pearson Solicitors

The team at Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers will be supporting the Santa's Secret Helpers campaign with donations, collections and volunteering to make sure the gifts are wrapped and delivered in time for Christmas.

“When the Oldham community comes together for something like this it can make it a magical Christmas for those children who otherwise might not be getting a sack full of gifts,” said Joanne Ormston, Director at Pearson Solicitors.

“It’s great that as a business we can help and get involved.  As well as sponsoring the campaign our staff are volunteering to wrap and deliver presents and I am sure many of them will be popping into town to get and tag and buy a gift.

As a mum I know how busy Christmas is, but also how exciting it is for the little ones and I would encourage as many people as possible to get involved and help spread some Christmas magic this year.” added Joanne
