Season of Goodwill & Jolly Jumpers for Solicitors

  • Posted on

It's the most wonderful time of the year - unless you're a child in need that is - so this year, the generous team at Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers have voted unanimously to support the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Campaign to make the world a better place by wearing a sweater.

Across all three offices in Oldham, Ashton and Tameside, the 67 strong team will be wearing their festive best on 15 December and donating to charity. Staff are also taking part in a social media campaign to encourage clients and friends of the firm to try to raise even more funds for the worthy cause.

On the same day, the generous team of solicitors and office staff will also be donating hampers of food, toys and toiletries to Oldham Foodbank which staff have been collecting as they do their own shopping throughout December.

"Every year we support charities at Christmas, this time of year should be all about children but it's important that we take time out to think of others less fortunate as we rush around the shops and get together with our families and work colleagues - we generally eat too much, drink too much and spend too much", said Pearson PR Manager, Suzanne Wright.

"By just wearing a jumper and donating some money means the difference between a hot meal or no meal, or to bring essential healthcare, education, protection and food to children. In addition, the parcels of food, luxury items and toys we take to the foodbank can help make Christmas that bit more special for a local family", she added.

In addition, Save the Children also works right on our doorstep in helping to build stronger relationships between parents, schools and communities, awarding grants to provide essential items for children's development, such as a bed, a cooker, or toys and books, to low income families who simply can't afford to buy these items themselves.

If anyone wants to donate items to the foodbank, they can drop them at any Pearson office, or support the team ahead of Christmas Jumper Day by texting TEAM3500 to 70050.
