Solicitors Play Santa to Senior

  • Posted on

Solicitors from Pearson law firm have been collecting gifts and wrapping them up ready for a Christmas delivery to elderly people across the area who may not get a visitor or a gift this festive season.

Working with Home Instead, a care provider across Saddleworth and Oldham, the law firm’s three office in Oldham, Ashton and Hollinwood have been collecting gifts of toiletries, biscuits and chocolates suitable for elderly men and women.

Bobbie Harvey, from Home Instead collected the gifts from Pearson’s Oldham office this week and said:

“It’s great when businesses get involved and people are so generous at this time of year.  Our staff will be delivering the gifts in the run up to Christmas and popping in for a chat and cuppa with elderly people in the area.”

Bobbie added: “When everything shuts down for the Christmas break some people may not see anyone for days on end but will know that someone has thought of them and have a gift to open and enjoy.”

Gifts have been piling up across the offices of Pearson Solicitors all week and were handed over this week ready for delivery.

“Charity begins at home is a well known phrase and Christmas is all about the family and loved ones, but it’s so hard to imagine that some people will not see a friendly face or have anyone to share the festive season with and so we wanted to take some time to make things a little more special for others,” said Suzanne Wright, of Pearson Solicitors.

“Our staff have been adding a few items to their Christmas shopping over the past couple of weeks and it was lovely to hand over a sack of presents to the Home Instead team,” she added.
