Alan Lewis
Alan is one of the North West’s leading employment solicitors and joined Pearson in 2022.
He is a friendly and approachable solicitor, whilst at the same time committed to achieving excellence in every case he takes on.
He has a wealth of experience and was previously the Head of the Commercial Division and National Head of Employment at Linder Myers, a national law firm where he worked for 32 years. Alan is an authority in his chosen field and recognised in the current edition of the Legal 500 as a ‘leading Partner’ in employment law. He is one of only a handful of solicitors in the North West who is recognised by the Legal 500 as acting for both employers and employees. Since joining Pearson he has led the department through a significant period of growth and his efforts were recognised by the Manchester Legal awards where his team was shortlisted for employment team of the year in 2025.

Examples of how Alan has supported clients include:
- Successfully pursuing numerous group litigation claims on behalf of employees seeking protective awards. Alan has acted for hundreds of employees and recovered compensation in excess of £1,000,000.
- Winning a case against the government concerning the employment status of members of a limited liability partnership where he successfully argued that the workers should have been classified as employees for the purposes of redundancy protection and other employment rights.
- Acting for numerous employers who subscribe to our Employline service where we provide advice to employers ranging from drafting contracts of employment, dealing with disciplinary and grievance issues, performance management, long term sickness absence, redundancies and flexible working requests
