Michael Pitt

Partner

Michael heads up two very busy departments working closely across the teams and supporting staff in both Employment and Commercial Property.

The Employment team has an enviable success rate in its litigious work before Employment Tribunals and a long list of big name company clients. Whilst the Commercial Property team is a busy hub, with clients who return time and time again.

Commercial clients come from industrial, retail, commercial and agricultural property areas and Michael’s years of experience and business acumen brings rigorous attention to detail and a commercially minded approach.

Michael has been with the firm since 1984 and has seen many changes to the legal landscape in that time. He is a former president of the Oldham Law Association and an active supporter of the Partners in Law programme which provides guidance and encourages young law students at Oldham University. He is an independent Business Governor at Oldham Sixth Form College.

Michael has an excellent rapport with his clients. He is regularly sought out as a commentator by the media and trade organisations for his perspective on employment law, industrial relations and commercial property law. He has a regular column in the Oldham Evening Chronicle on a range of issues affecting employers.

Married with four daughters, in his spare time he is a keen sportsman, plays golf, enjoys skiing, hill walking and mountain biking.
