Commercial Lease secured for Vegan Restaurant in Manchester

  • Posted on

As today mark’s World Vegan Day, we thought it appropriate to tell you of a transaction completed by our Commercial Property Department on behalf of Wholesome Junkies which is an award-winning vegan restaurant in Manchester.

Chelsea Campbell and Wholesome Junkies

Chelsea Campbell who founded Wholesome Junkies back in 2017, first shot to fame after appearing on BBC2’s Million Pound Menu series in 2018, a series also featured on Netflix. Although she did not win, she did generate interest from one of the investors and on social media where Wholesome Junkies now has a large following.

This is a real story of determination as whilst Chelsea continued to run two vegan kiosks in Warrington and Manchester and a delivery service in Ardwick, her dream was to run a restaurant in Manchester City Centre. Chelsea’s dream was realised when her vegan restaurant opened its doors at Maribel Street located underneath the archways next to Victoria Station.

In addition to this, Chelsea secured funding through a Kickstarter programme to help fund the renovations and in September Wholesome Junkies won the ‘Best Plant Offering of the Year’ at the Manchester Food & Drink Festival 2022.

Commercial Restaurant Lease

Paul McGladdery, a lawyer in our commercial property department acted for Wholesome Junkies to secure the commercial lease for the new vegan restaurant in Manchester, advising on all elements of the commercial lease including reviewing, negotiating and agreeing on the terms of the letting.

Paul said: “It has been a delight working with Chelsea. She is extremely driven, focused and passionate about what her brand stands for.”

“As with all my clients, we build long-lasting relationships by delivering the best in legal services to the highest of standards and this is reflected by repeat business and referrals.”

“We are in a fortunate position to see our clients’ businesses grow and support them along the way. Wholesome Junkies will be one I watch with keen interest over the coming years.”

“Chelsea and the team at Wholesome Junkies are making great strides in the restaurant sector which is testament to her ambitious growth plans and leadership skills which are essential for any successful business.”
