Redundancy consultation period reduced to 45 days

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has published draft legislation The Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 (Amendment) Order 2013 that aims to reduce the consultation period when 100 or more employees are to be made redundant from 90 days to 45 days.

The legislation would apply when the proposal to make 100 or more people redundant occurs on or after 6th April 2013.
