Laura Pracy


Laura is a solicitor in Pearson's litigation department specialising in contentious probate disputes.

Laura first joined the Litigation Department at Pearson in 2007 where she worked for 6 years before moving on to gain experience in other practices. She has recently returned to the firm to specialise in contentious probate disputes.

Laura graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 2:1 degree, undertook her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law Chester and qualified as a solicitor in 2006.

Specialist areas

Laura's main specialism is contentious probate disputes. She advises clients on whether a Will can be challenged and on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975 where insufficient provision has been made either under a Will or as a result of Intestacy.

As part of her practice, Laura also advises on matters relating to:

  • commercial / contract disputes
  • intellectual property disputes
  • professional negligence claims
  • commercial debt recovery

Outside the office

Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is a governor at her local primary school and an active member of the local community.

Laura is also a Level 1 qualified football coach and currently coaches a grassroots under 9's junior football team.
